On Wednesday, the Lower Elementary East students were presented with the classic Montessori lesson of The Black Line.  This impressionistic lesson is meant to illustrate the age of the Earth in relation to the history of humans. After unraveling an extensive length of the black line, which represents the age of the Earth, they find a tiny red segment, which represents the length of time that humans have been on the Earth.
