Spanish with Ms. Rose

Upper Elementary students read El Arbol Generoso (The Giving Tree) to their Lower Elementary friends.  Upper Elementary students listened to a Middle School friend read the story to them.  Students from all grades are excited about continuing the cycle of giving with their Kindergarten friends next week when a few students will visit the Lower Campus to read this endearing story to their schoolmates.  Many students are happy they will be visiting their siblings’ classrooms.

Upper and Lower Elementary friends practiced an autumn-themed short poem and song in Spanish.  They will present these to their youngest friends in the Primary and Toddler classrooms the week of Thanksgiving.

Upper School students also worked steadily on our Giving Tree.  Students painted donated paper bags in shades of brown and dark red.  Then they helped to shape the individual ridges of the trunk and secured those to a thick backing suitable for hanging.  The tree is ready to display our beautiful autumn colored leaves. Teachers and staff will join students to decorate the tree with their words of thanks written on these leaves. Be sure to stop by the Upper School entrance and watch our tree fill with the wonderful sentiments of gratitude shared by members of our school community.
