The environment cards are a new Language activity in the Toddler 2 classroom that builds upon the students’ ability to recognize sight words.  They hang the labels on familiar objects around the classroom, like the window, mirror, door, chair, and wall.  The children enjoy hunting around the classroom to match the cards to the objects and they experience the pride of “reading” words on their own.  This work serves a second, and equally important, purpose of providing a constructive outlet for the Toddlers’ physical energy.
