Fall Welcome Breakfast (finally!)
Saturday, September 19
9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Warren Street Playground
We hope that you can join us! The event is a great opportunity for the WFM community to get together and a wonderful kick off to the school year: Enjoy a Brownstone Diner pancake breakfast while you connect with other families, teachers and staff members.
Reminder: The school will be closed on Wednesday, September 23, for Yom Kippur and the beginning of Eid al Adha.
Thanks to all the parents who were able to join us for our Curriculum Nights this week. We hope that you enjoyed learning about your child’s upcoming school year and talking to your child’s teachers.
Registration information for AfterSchool classes will be distributed soon via email.
The Upper and Lower School will conduct mandatory “stay put” drills next week. Please check your inbox for the dedicated email about the drills. Before the drill, teachers will talk to their students in an age-appropriate manner about why we conduct the drills and what we need to do during this type of drill.
Mark Your Calendars: Pizza Fridays will begin on Friday, October 2, at the Upper Campus for Elementary and Middle School students. This year we have a new vendor: Local restaurant Krispy Pizza will provide gourmet, New York style pies made with fresh, homemade ingredients. Check the dedicated email you will receive over the weekend, or just click here for details and to register. The Pizza Friday fundraiser helps to finance our students’ participation in Montessori Model United Nations. We appreciate your support of our students!
Parents of Kindergarteners and new-to-WFM Elementary Students: If you wish to allow your child’s art work to appear in WFM’s Artsonia online art gallery, please check your child’s Friday Folder for the Artsonia permission slip and use your child’s personal Artsonia username and security code to grant permission for Ms. Stacey to upload your child’s future art work to WFM’s gallery. You may create an account so that you may view your child’s work, and if you wish, you may also invite friends and family to view your child’s work. If you do not have your child’s permission slip, please contact Chris at the Upper Campus and she will be happy to assist you. (If your child is a continuing Elementary student and you completed the form last year, it is still valid. If you did not grant permission last year, you will find a personalized permission slip in your child’s Friday Folder.)
As always, we are glad to have your family as part of our WFM community. We hope that you will visit The Flow often and share what is happening at Waterfront Montessori!
