Toddler and Primary Admissions

Toddlers must be age 2 and Primary students must be age 3 or 4 by October 1.  

  1. Submit an application to the school accompanied by the $75 application fee.

  2. Schedule a parent tour/information session online. We invite parents to choose a morning to visit the school for a tour and information session, which parents will schedule online. These visits are for adults only and are mandatory.

  3. Schedule a classroom observation online. After attending a parent tour, parents may schedule a 20-minute observation in a classroom. These visits are for adults only and are mandatory.

  4.  Schedule a child visit online. After the parent visit and observation, and depending on availability of appropriate spaces in our programs, parents may be invited to schedule a classroom visit for their child. Child visits are required for the applicant to be considered for admission.

  5.  Applicants who have completed all steps of the admissions process will receive an admission decision by February 27. Should an applicant be accepted, parents will have a limited time frame in which to let us know of their acceptance and complete the admission paperwork.

Kindergarten Admissions

  4. Submit prior school records and recommendations. One recommendation must come from a teacher, the other from the Principal or Head of School.

  5. Schedule a child visit online. After receipt of all prior school records, all applicants will be invited to visit one of our classrooms. Child visits are required for the applicant to be considered for admission.

  6. Applicants who have completed all steps of the admissions process will receive an admission decision by February 27. Should an applicant be accepted, parents will have a limited time frame in which to let us know of their acceptance and complete the admission paperwork.

Elementary And Middle School Admissions

Lower Elementary students must be age 6 by October 1.  Under exceptional circumstances, we may consider students who have completed Kindergarten in a recognized jurisdiction with a later age cutoff date.

  1. Submit an application to the school accompanied by the $75 application fee.

  2. Schedule a parent tour/information session. We invite parents to choose a morning to visit the school for a tour and to spend time observing a classroom. This visit may be scheduled by emailing admissions@waterfrontmontessori.com. These visits are for adults only and are mandatory.

  3. Submit prior school records and recommendations. One recommendation must come from a teacher, the other from the Principal or Head of School.

  4. After receipt of all prior school records, the applicant will be invited to visit in the appropriate classroom. This visit is mandatory for consideration for admission.

  5. Applicants who have completed all steps of the admissions process will receive an admission decision by February 27. Should an applicant be accepted, parents will have a limited time frame in which to let us know of their acceptance and complete the admission paperwork.

Transferring Montessori Students:

Transferring Montessori students will be admitted year-round provided there is space available. A letter of evidence of prior enrollment in an authentic Montessori school and the dates of that enrollment must be written on the prior school's letterhead and presented with the application.

Transferring Montessori students must spend a minimum of a half-day in the appropriate classroom prior to admission.  Parents of students who are transferring from another Montessori program should call the school’s office at (201) 333-5600 to make arrangements for this classroom visit.
