We believe that children never stop learning. Provided an environment in which learning and play are indistinguishable, they continue to learn and grow no matter the time of year.

Waterfront Montessori Summer Programs are designed for fun with a purpose. Our exceptional teachers provide a safe and stimulating environment in which children are free to explore their passions. By tackling new challenges both indoors and out, children will make friends, develop their confidence and most importantly, have fun learning.

Reaching For Independence

Toddler | Age 2

Give your two year old a chance to take his or her first steps toward independence and self-care!

Toddlers have an amazing capacity to do things for themselves, if only we could give enough time and space to work on these skills – something that can be hard for us to do in the midst of our busy lives.  Our classrooms are staffed with our experienced lead teachers, who have the patience of saints and expertise in child development. Let them nurture and develop your child’s drive to master the world around him or her in an environment in which learning and play are indistinguishable. Our children will also sing to their hearts content with our talented Music staff. Outdoor play in our secure playground rounds out the morning.

Beautiful Biomes:

Flora, Fauna & Fun

Campers | Ages 3-6

Start your child off each morning with a spirit-boosting round of song, movement and sports activities before they turn to exploring nature in all its magnificence. With the 360 degree approach we take to teaching, the learning will never be deeper.  But, they will just call it fun!

Week 1:  June 27 - July 3 (no camp July 4 and 5)

Tundra: Arctic Circle & Northern Canada
Hike through the harshest ecosystem in the world.  Discover the unique and toughest species of plants and creatures that live in the coldest and driest place on the planet.  Move like the snow and wind of this extreme community as you dance through the week!

Week 2:  July 8 - 12

Rainforest: Southern Asia
Trail through one of the hottest, wettest places on Earth.  Find wonder in the unique vegetation and vibrant animals of this lush landscape. Revel in the noise, color and humidity that make it so enchanting and learn Kung Fu along the way!

Week 3: July 15 - 19

Deciduous Forests: Europe
Tour this four seasons biome of mountains, valleys and rolling hills and the multitude of insects, birds, mammals and leaf-shedding trees that live there.  Meet the domestic animals that inhabit it with a visit from a travel farm!

Coniferous Forests: Europe
Ramble into dense forests of evergreen trees in the largest land-based ecosphere on the planet.  With its long winters and short summers, it is home to deer, bears and wolves and the primary source of the paper we write on.  Take center stage in a tree-preservation mini-play!

Week 4: July 22 - 26

Desert: South America
Cruise the Pacific coast of the Americas to the Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on Earth.  Explore a landscape of stony terrain, salt lakes and sand and learn about the incredible flora and fauna that survive on less than an inch of rainfall a year! Learn to move like a creature of the desert and mix it up with an in-person visit by the Lizard Guys.

Week 5:  July 29 - August 2

Aquatic: Australia & New Zealand
Plunge into the world’s largest biome!  Explore the incredible underwater sights of a world more otherworldly than Earth-like and the extraordinary variety of life that inhabits it. Check it out, up close and personal, with a visit by some fascinating sea creatures.

Week 6:  August 5 - 9

Savanna: Africa
Take an expedition to the African Savanna!  This balmy tropical grassland will amaze with its extraordinary diversity of animals, plants and climate.   Why not dance like a giraffe or an elephant with an African dance and music show!

Every day, campers will be signed in and welcomed at the playground, where they will enjoy 15 minutes of camp songs to lift their spirits and get them ready for a great day. Along with their biome exploration, campers will enjoy weekly water play, soccer, music and dance classes, Mad Science experiments and cooking with Bambino Chef.  Each two-week session will end on a high note with a magic show on the final Friday.

WFM Summer Camp Hopscotch around the World was a great experience for my 4 year old. She loved coming home each week with her suitcase full of her travel souvenirs to share. She created birds and explored the rainforest when visiting Brazil and danced in her toga and laurel wreath crown when learning about the Roman Empire. She was excited to go spend the day crafting, exploring and learning. Her time spent outside in water play and running with friends was among her favorite things. She had a wonderful time and is already looking forward to her return next summer!

Summer Camp Parent

Last year, my child attended the summer camp Hopscotch around the World. While we were looking at many different camps around the area, we got most excited about this one for its focus on learning about different countries and their unique cultures – something that is so important in an increasingly global world. Activities included discovering the history of various countries in interactive circle times, exploring their unique foods through basic cooking, celebrating their art, music and sports, and general fun activities like water play and seeing a live magic show. Every week, my child came back with this adorable travel suitcase that showcased all his work. I must say it wasn’t just about learning but having fun – to this day he keeps reminiscing about all he did in the camp and how he wants to do it again this year!
