Lower Elementary North - January 11, 2019

Parts of a Seed

The first and second year Lower Elementary North students were excited to explore the different parts of a seed. After soaking the seeds overnight, they were able to dissect the seeds to get a closer look at all the parts.

Relationships Between Lines

The third year Lower Elementary North Students learned about the various relationships between two lines. They created examples of the different sets of lines including parallel, divergent, intersecting, perpendicular and convergent.

Dissecting a Mushroom

Lower Elementary North third year students were eager to discover the various parts that make up a mushroom. To collect the mushroom spores, the students left them cap-down on construction paper and then later examined them closely.

Toddler 1 - December 21, 2018

Happy holidays from Toddler 1!

Several Christmas themed activities have been in constant use in the Toddler 1 classroom. Decorating (and un-decorating!) the class Christmas tree encourages the Toddlers to use gentle hands when hanging the delicate ornaments while enjoying some festive fun. Some students enjoy peaceful time, often singing to themselves while decorating, while others are happy to invite a friend to join in.

Toddler 2 - December 21, 2018

Toddler 2 Christmas

The Toddler 2 class was delighted to welcome a class parent for a Christmas presentation this week. The children had a wonderful time hanging ornaments on a beautiful felt tree, singing holiday carols and decorating gingerbread kids. Many thanks to the student and her mom for sharing such a joyful morning with us! Later in the week, they enjoyed the treat of a visit from "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" and her friends from Primary 1.

Spin-art Ornaments

The Toddler 2 students had a wonderful time making spin-art ornaments this week. They enjoyed watching drops of paint transform into beautiful designs in the salad spinner, painting with metallic paint, and glueing their very own pictures onto their lovely ornaments. We wish everyone a wonderful winter break with lots of quality time with family and friends!

Primary 1 - December 21, 2018

Holiday Activities

The children are very excited for the upcoming holidays. This week he class had parent presentations about Christmas and Kwanza. The students made a class tree using pushpins of their hand prints. They also created many variations of holiday cards for their friends and family.

A Montessori Birthday

This week, the class celebrated a fellow student’s birthday. Her siblings joined in the celebration and her older sister read a book to the class.
