During the month of November the Upper School students and staff will be participating in a school wide community building activity as a part of their Spanish curriculum.  In the coming days students will listen to El Arbol Generoso (The Giving Tree) by Shel Silverstein.  Middle School students will read to Upper Elementary students, who will then read the book to Lower Elementary students.  Upper School students will read the book to students at the Lower School as well.  The art portion of this project began during Parent-Teacher Conferences.  Students painted donated paper grocery bags with brown paint to form the trunk of our “giving” tree.  Over the coming weeks, students and faculty will create a large tree mural covered with leaves upon which they have written what they are thankful for in Spanish.
